Beta The Game
Straddle the line between gamer and developer
Beta: The Game is a physics-based, open game world that allows players to easily play, create and share games online. Learn how to use code to manipulate objects and properties using a simple programming language called CodePOP. Designed for anyone 10 and up, with or without previous programming and design expertise.
My Role:
I was the Narrative Design Lead and Director of Partnership Development for Hidden Level Games, a group of game designers of color. Our production process focused on creating work that promoted POC representation of creators and leaders in the gaming industry.
The work also inspired collecting the names and talents of game designers and artists of color and making this list accessible to large design studios who often blame their low lack of diversity on an inability to locate talented designers of color.
